Advice on administration via enteral tube
Current resources suggest that it is likely to be safe to administer via enteral feeding tubes. Stop the enteral feed before administration. Draw up the required dose of co-amoxiclav suspension in an enteral syringe then draw up an equal volume of water and shake to mix. Administer through the enteral feeding tube. Flush the feeding tube with water before and after administration of the medication. No break in feeding is required after the medication has been administered.
