Advice on administration via enteral tube
Current resources suggest that it is likely to be safe to administer Cacit® sachets for solution via enteral feeding tubes. Stop the enteral feed before administration. Pour the contents of the sachet into a glass and add water to create a solution. Draw up the solution into an enteral syringe then administer via enteral feeding tube. Rinse the glass and administer this also. Flush the feeding tube with water before and after administration of the medication. No break in feeding is required after the medication has been administered.
