Advice on administration via enteral tube
Current resources suggest that it is likely to be safe to administer co-trimoxazole suspension via enteral feeding tubes. Stop the enteral feed before administration. Draw up the required dose into an enteral syringe and an equal volume of water then administer via enteral feeding tube. Flush the feeding tube with water before and after administration of the medication. No break in feeding is required after the medication has been administered.
